Miami’s First Waterfront Skate Park dedicated to locals and public parks promises nothing but good vibes & solid grooves

Earlier this year on February 26th the Macias brothers, founders of Macias Advertising, an integrated creative content & brand development advertising agency based out of Miami, shared their Miami pride by giving locals the fun they deserve and launched Bay Skate Miami, a unique skating and music experience located at Bayfront Park’s historic Pepper Fountain that captivated the city on its first edition. (See the video here if you missed it: https://vimeo.com/136946162). Now, Bay Skate Miami is back by popular demand.

Located in the heart of Downtown Miami’s Bayfront Park, Macias developed this initiative to help activate one of the city’s most important public parks and surrounding communities, that is booming with new residents, local businesses, and experiencing an exciting evolution. After winning The Miami Foundation’s “Public Space Challenge,” and more recently recognized as Miami New Time’s “2015 Best of Miami”, this initiative is back next Friday, September 25th, with new features for everyone to enjoy.

“The first event was a hit and a we had such an incredible turnout and feedback. Most importantly, it brought people of all ages, cultures, and lifestyles, together for an evening of authentic community fun, nostalgia, and camaraderie. Few times we see ideas executed in our city with this broad reach and non-segmented ideology that truly connects people,” said Alex Macias, COO/Managing Partner of Macias. “Expect us to bring back some Bay Skate originals (and local favorites) like Wynwood Brewing Co., and great food coming from an expanded list of food trucks including “James Beard Nominee” Chef Richard Hales’ Sakaya, Blackbrick, and his new Centro Taco. It’s a night created for our locals, and this is our personal dedication to our city and the people who make it special!”

The event is free and locals will be able to either bring their own skates or rent quad skates at the Bay Skate Shop, that is sponsored, (and powered), by Super Wheels and their pro skate staff. If you are wondering, your own rollerblades, roller-skates, and skateboards are welcome! The program continues its effort to highlight local businesses and offer a quality community experience where everyone can choose to chill, dance, eat, play, and get active, while throwing down some of their best moves. This edition will be hosted and emceed by local musician Gaby Duran, but you can expect special surprise guests and celebrity appearances throughout the evening. Bay Skate promises once again to create an authentic nostalgic vibe where families, friends, and groups can come and bring their funk to the heart of Downtown Miami once again.
